Why I've switched to GitLab

I've switched to GitLab, from GitHub, because of the new "Device verification" process Microsoft have rolled out on the latter. I still have a lot of repos on GitHub with older examples of my work but, as far as the future is concerned, my relationship with GitHub is pretty much finished.

It's not just the device verification stuff either, as now that I've explored just how much better GitLab is, admittedly after years of putting it off (as I saw no need for two VCS), I'm delighted to have finally taken the plunge...their VCS and DevOps offerings are comparitively incredible.

Microsoft should probably focus more on making GitHub a better product, and less on making it a more exclusionary service to those of us who don't want to part with, basically, their DNA to upload a repo.
